GreenLine Thieves are a Chicago-based indie rock band providing a fusion of all your favorite genres into unique catchy songs that will have you singing along. Fully formed in 2022, the band continues its discovery of new tones and musical blends with the goal to get everyone moving on the dance floor. Lead singer, Simon Newman, came up with the band name due to a mugging he experienced on the ‘Green Line’ subway train within his first week in Chicago after moving from Montreal. The thieves wanted to make sure Simon got home safe and gave him back his phone, drivers license, and enough cash to make it home on the subway. To pay homage to the politeness of these thieves, GreenLine Thieves was born.

What sets us apart musically is the variety of genres that drive the influence in our sound as each member of the band brings a different music taste to piece together our original songs. Having played shows throughout many different neighborhoods in Chicago, we’ve gained a loyal following and plan to expand our fanbase with the soon-to-be released live album.
